To mark the one year anniversary of the Manchester Arena bombing pupil’s came dressed to school wearing pink and blue clothing.
Pupils were asked to bring in a £1 donation and cupcakes were also on sale made by Lee’s the Bakers.
We raised over £100 today.
This money will go straight to the ‘Together Forever Trust’ which was set up in memory of Chloe Rutherford and Liam Curry from South Shields who sadly lost their lives a year ago today.
Today we have had our own Royal Wedding Day in school to celebrate the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Pupils came to school dressed in their finest attire…
and enjoyed a celebratory lunch….
The dining hall was decorated in Union Jack’s and the children make their own centrepieces for the tables.
A fabulous day had by all.
We all wish Harry and Meghan lots of happiness.
We participated in Empty Classroom Day for the second year running.
100% of lessons that could be conducted outside were. We participated in an outside reading area, joined in with parachute games, completed an obstacle course, enjoyed some cycling, participated in problem solving activities as well as relaxing our minds and souls with some yoga.
Green Class 2 visited the Hancock museum this week as part of their topic about the Egyptians. They saw the mummies and other ancient artefacts.
Everyone enjoyed visiting the café for lunch.
School council attended a residential at the TCR Hub in Barnard Castle this week.
The pupils completed a key fund application for in order to fund the trip. Pupils voted for and planned the activities that they took part in which included High Ropes and Canoeing.
All of the pupils faced fears whilst away and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
They all came away feeling pretty proud of themselves not to mention tired.
This week Sunshine Class have been learning all about animals. They have been very busy in the kitchen making animal faces on toast and working hard to make a display in the classroom.
A group of Key stage 3 visited the Blue Reef Aquarium in Tynemouth today. This is part of our topic looking at ‘How and where can we spend our time’.
Pupils completed a Key Fund task a few months ago, which they presented to the panel and have received money to visit different locations. One of the locations the pupils choose was the Blue Reef Aquarium.
Pupils saw sharks, star fish, otters, seals and lots and lots of different fish. This was followed by a snack in the café and an opportunity to choose toys from the gift shops.

Key Stage 3 and 4 visited Nissan this week. We were involved in an interactive workshop and working in a team environment. We learnt new skills and used different tools. We designed and made our own cars from Lego working in pairs.
After lunch we had a tour around the workshop and saw one of the robots in action. Everyone was amazed with this and enjoyed it when the robot squirted cold air at everyone.
A fun day had by all!!
This week we finally managed to celebrate World Book Day after last weeks snow
On Thursday some our staff read some wonderful stories to pupils across the school. These included Stone Soup, Olafs Frozen Adventure and Animal Boogie. Today pupils could come to school dressed as their favourite book character. Everyone has had a great week!
