Thank you to parents for your patience. We will continue to offer suggestions for activities. They are just suggestions to keep children busy. We know you are not creating schools in your home. Staff are very aware of your pressures as they are family members, parents and some are home carers too.

On Monday 23rd March staff will be in school planning sessions to be offered to key workers. Key workers will be contacted directly. If you have enquiries of any kind you will need to use the

School remains closed to all other pupils until further notice.

There will be no pupils in school on Monday . You will be contacted if we can offer support for key workers. We need to be sure we have staff in place that can care for pupils safely . We have identified families from our records where both parents are key workers to offer support as a priority and offer those with one key worker if staffing allows. You will be contacted directly by text.

Depending upon the number of staff we have fit and well, we may be able to offer additional child care for key workers from Tuesday. We have a list of families with key workers. We will let those we can offer support know as soon as we can. The care and safety of your children and our staff will be at the core of all we do.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. Our staff will be working hard to help directly for key worker support and by continuing to offer suggestions to keep young minds and bodies busy.

Thank you so much to parents that have helped us manage our school closure. The children were able to deal with it as well as we could hope for.

We will try to keep the Facebook page busy with suggestions for activities but we are aware that is no substitute for the time they would have spent in school.

Thanks also go to staff whose calm caring response has kept the pupils safe and school for as long as possible.

As soon as we have news about opening dates we will share that with you.

We hope you all stay safe and well.

Tennis Skills

Today some students from KS3 &4 had a great time practising their tennis skills with Ross playing accessible tennis. During the session they developed and practiced different skills. Well done everyone for fantastic effort and great sportsmanship.
Relays to test co-ordination:  balancing, rolling, keepy up.
Floor Tennis:  In groups rolling ball to one another, gradually spacing them out wider.
Bounce passing:  In groups, standing passing ball via racket to one another, making sure bounces between each other.
Caterpillar drill:  Passing the ball along the line diagonally with rackets.
Matchplay:  Freeplay in style of a standard tennis match.

School Council news…

Once a fortnight school council meet to discuss school issues they feel are important as well as wider issues such as climate change and carrying out a beach clean in the warmer months.
On Friday 28th February some of the school council held their Council meeting at the magnificent Jarrow Hall. School Council members really enjoyed holding their meeting in a different venue and are now planning where they would like to hold a special meeting in the summer term.
