Blue Class 1 have been asking for unwanted toys to donate to local charity Hebburn Helps. People were very generous and we collected some fabulous gifts to give to those families less fortunate this Christmas.
We also made a Christmas card for staff to sign and make a donation to the charity. So far we have raised over £150.

Blue 1 had a great day out yesterday. We visited Fenwicks window and then had lunch at Frankie and Bennys. Pupils were amazing at following instructions whilst out in the community and did the school very proud.
We were joined by Year 7 from Bamburgh school, who we have been building links with over the past few weeks. Pupils had the opportunity to chat and enjoy time with their new friends. 
Blue 1 visited Red Fox Garden Centre on Newcastle Road, East Boldon on Tuesday 10th December 2019. This was part of our topic on Christmas and winter. We had so much fun and the staff at the Garden centre were amazing. The pupils met Mrs Cluas on arrival where she chatted with the pupils. She then took us on a train ride from North East England up into the snowy North Pole. Pupils loved this experience and enjoyed watching the scenery change as the train got closer to Santa.
Afterwards, we went through Narnia to a winter wonderland full of snow, trees and animals. We were then lucky enough to be able to sit on Santas sleigh with Prancer and Blitzen Reindeer to guide us.
A big thank-you to the staff at Red Fox, you were amazing and they even let us use Santas soft play to finish off our visit.
We then went to McDonalds for lunch, where pupils choose a meal and a McFlurry as a treat.
A huge thank you to Fenwick Newcastle and especially Lee Middleton for his generosity and fantastic surprise in arranging our Santa on the rooftop experience.
Our day was made extra special. We made biscuits with the elves, watched the singing reindeer in the stables, enjoyed the snowfall on the rooftop with fantastic views, met Santa, then explored his sleigh before heading to the cafe for lunch.
Year 6 pupils from St Oswald’s came to visit this week to help out our younger pupils in school. A great morning had by all and our children enjoyed them visiting their class and joining in with different activities.

Thousands of youngsters had the chance at winning with The Key an organisation that supports many of our students develop 12 key life skills. Martin was over the moon and busting with excitement of have his card made and used by The Key this Christmas.

Yesterday some KS3 students made us so proud. Whilst in Newcastle we observed the 2 minutes’ silence with great respect and total silence alongside the rest of the general public that were present. It was a very moving time. In school classes have completed their own work linked to remembrance day. Here is some of Blue 2’s work.
What an amazing morning Monday was! some students from KS3 literacy group went along to Fenwicks window and visited the cafe. The author for this group is Roald Dahl and we have been learning all about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. During the visit we made had a great chat about all the different characters as well as other key features of the book and film over a tasty treat.
