We had a very special visitor in School on Friday…
Kim Tserkezie who played Penny Pocket in the well loved children’s programme Balamory came to meet our pupils.
She shared a story that she has written and enjoyed meeting our children and answering their questions.
Identified students in years 7-11 have participated in two session linked to friendships and relationships with a third session happening later this term. Three drop in sessions for parents /careers and staff have also been held in school.
Sessions are co delivered by Ged and one of our teacher Toni Waugh.
More details about Operation Encompass can be found in our Safeguarding Section on our Website

For World Mental Health Day we came dressed in the colour yellow.
Our student council visited a local Residential Care home to delivery cakes and biscuits to the elderly. This really cheered everyone up and the residents were very happy to be visited by our pupils.
Welcome back to a new school year!
Over the last 2 weeks we have been celebrating how fabulous we all are by having our own ‘Shine Festival’
Pupils across the school have been participating in activities related to their own individual talents, family background and their likes and dislikes.
Most importantly the message is it’s good to be different and we all have our own unique talents and interests.
We had a visit from a drummer, a juggler and a balloon artist last week. All pupils enjoyed these visitors and had lots of fun trying new things.

On Friday we finished the week by having a special parade around our school field. Each class made their own colourful banner and staff and pupils were encouraged to come to school dressed in bright rainbow colours.
What a fabulous start to the new school year!
Yellow Class visited Adventure Valley as part of being healthy and had an AMAZING time! We had great fun bouncing on the giant pillows, fed the animals, explored a pirate ship and even went down a huge slide on giant inflatable donuts! We all loved every second of it! ️
On Tuesday we had a Mexican themed street food lunch. The School Council and everyone who works in the kitchen worked really hard to make sure the event was a huge success. Decorations, balloons and fancy dress helped everyone enjoy the fiesta.

Our Post 16 students attended their prom at The Little Haven Hotel last week. Everyone looked very glamourous
They all enjoyed the afternoon in their very own marquee where they celebrated with a delicious buffet and a disco. Our leavers were given a send off to remember!
Thank you to all of the staff at The Little Haven Hotel for another fantastic prom.
